MUSIC COVERS This Photoshop creativity assignment resulted in several versions of music cover art, such as those in the iTunes store. Conditions: We could modify the supplied image but not add additional images; the final versions must be square.
So how did I end up with this crazy combination? The instructor’s formula, of course. We selected the items from predetermined criteria and applied our first name, last name, and birth month.
Name of Band: New Zealand Road Code
There it is; my band’s name—just because my first name is in the F-K group. The instructor’s band titles came from random Wikipedia articles. At least I didn’t end up with “My Broken Brain.”
Name of Album: None of Us
The first letter of my last name pointed to this quote and we had to choose 2-5 consecutive words from it for all our albums. “Books are the greatest and the most satisfactory of recreations. I mean the use of books for pleasure. Without books, without having acquired the power of reading for pleasure, none of us can be independent, but if we can read we have a sure defense against boredom in solitude.” — Edward Grey. I selected “none of us” from this quote, although “a sure defense” ran a close race too.
Album Artwork: Fern
I ended up with the fern artwork based on my birth month. I had fun with Photoshop filters for this one.
